Bertha Aldaco, our beloved mother, grandmother and sister, died peacefully with her family at her side following a lengthy illness. She was born in San Gabriel, CA to Manuel and Martha Aldaco.

She met and married Alejandro Valdez from Tubao, La Union, Philippines before eventually residing in Tracy and Modesto. Her energy, spirit, compassion, kindness and loving heart touched numerous lives over the years. She was genuine. To her, being with family and friends was everything. She enjoyed being the life of the party, entertaining those with her immense love for singing, often with mariachi groups.  Her singing brought smiles and joy to those who knew her.  Her other hobbies were traveling, knitting and playing cards. She will be remembered for so many things, but nothing greater than a wonderful and devoted mother, sister and friend.  She will be missed greatly.

She is survived by her three children:  Florie Hartzell, Marina Valdez and Alex Valdez, Jr.; her son-in-law Rod Hartzell; her grandsons Matthew and Michael Hartzell; five great grandchildren; sisters Mary Solano, Gloria Martinez, Ruth Thomas, Rosie Ortega, Eloisa Negrete, Irene Alvarez and brother Bart Aldaco and numerous nieces and nephews; joins her deceased husband Alejandro Valdez, Sr.; parents Manuel and Martha Aldaco; sister Victoria Martinez and brothers Manuel and Daniel Aldaco.

Viewing, rosary and graveside services will be at Turlock Memorial Park and Funeral Home (viewing on Wednesday, March 9 from 6 to 7 p.m. and rosary from 7 to 9 p.m.) and mass will be held at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church (7th and J Streets) on Thursday, March 10 at 11 a.m. Graveside will be at Turlock Memorial Park on March 10 at 1 p.m.
