Bessie May Fells, 80, entered into rest surrounded by her family on August 8, 2016 at Doctors Medical Center in Modesto. She was born in Gordon, Nebraska on August 10, 1935 to the late Thomas and Ruth Perry. Bessie leaves behind her loving husband of 63 years Dick Fells Sr. of Manteca, her children, Dee Pacheco (Joe) of Manteca, Dick Fells Jr. of Stockton, Judy Demakas (Ted) of Modesto, Ricky Fells (Pam) of Tracy, Trudy Turnbull (Doug) of Riverbank and Tim Fells (Tracy) of Manteca. Bessie was blessed with 18 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren. She leaves behind her sisters Lila Lind of MO and Gladys Nelson of Galt. In addition Bessie leaves her longtime friend that was like her sister Lenita Cobb of Linden. 
   Bessie was a Manteca resident. Bessie and Dick made their home in Manteca in 1953.   Bessie was a strong woman and a survivor. She had a heart of gold and would give the shirt off her back if anyone needed it.  She loved Red Lobster and taking long drives in the country and stopping at the fruit stands. She loved country music, dancing and collecting dolls.  She retired from Walmart in Manteca in 2004.  She loved her family dearly, her grandchildren and her great grandchildren were the apple of her eye. Bessie was a member of Place of Refuge Church where she loved her church family. She will be remembered for her unconditional love and for being the best wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will be truly missed.
