Betsy leaves behind her sons, Charles “Chuck” Poindexter Jr. of Manteca, Paul Poindexter and wife Lydia of Manteca and Bill Poindexter and wife Angie of Elk Grove. She was blessed with 10 grandchildren, Scott Poindexter, Jeff Poindexter, Ramsey Poindexter, Laura Rankin, Brett Poindexter, Lucas Montalvo, Eddie Poindexter, Anthony Poindexter, Michael Petersen, and Julie Petersen. Betsy was a Lathrop resident and a homemaker for much of her life. She also had a 20-year nursing carrier, but her home was her core. Betsy was a librarian for several years at Lathrop Elementary School, where many students fondly remember her. She was a member of the Lathrop Brethren Church and a proud East Union High School band booster from 1974-77. Betsy was talented, as she played the piano beautifully and sung in the church choir. Betsy was a giver, and her nurturing spirit was evident. Betsy never met a stranger; she was welcoming and made you feel like family. She loved to garden, showcasing her love for flowers. She loved her family dearly, and her grandchildren were the apple of her eye. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and friend. She will truly be missed.
