Beulah Stevens
April 3, 1920-July 4, 2014
Beulah Stevens bw

Beulah Stevens, beloved wife, friend, aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother found her final peace on July 4, 2014 in Porterville, California at the age of 94.
She was born April 3, 1920 in Weissert, Nebraska to Archie and Ethel Elliott. The family moved to Manteca, California in the late 1930’s. She attended Manteca High School and after graduating Beulah married Floyd Stevens to whom she was wed for 46 years until his death in 1987.
Always a woman ahead of her time, she worked as a key punch operator to support the war effort during World War II. During her long and eventful life, she ran a motel and worked with Floyd in his construction business. When they retired, they travelled to all fifty states and Mexico. In her later years, Beulah travelled the world with family and friends. An avid quilter, Beulah was a member of the Manteca Quilters Guild. She was also a member and greeter at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Manteca. In 2005, she moved to Porterville to be close to her daughter Kathie. Whenever she went, Beulah was well-loved by friends and family. She had a ready smile and great sense of humor. As Mom, “Grammy” and GG, she will be remembered with fond tenderness, and love.
Beulah also loved her church, Sunday school class, and Ladies Fellowship. She knew that she would meet her Savior face to face on that glorious day of her homegoing.
Beulah is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Kathie and Martin Mittman of Porterville. She is also survived by two grandchildren and their spouses, Juliane Mittman-Steen (Jeff), of Los Osos, CA. and Matthew Mittman (Natalie) of American Canyon, CA.  She enjoyed the high spirits of her three great-grandchildren Sofia, Naomi and Luke. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Charlene Elliott of Modesto and many special-loved nephews and nieces.
The family would like to give special thanks for the loving care that Beulah received from Eva Marie Felix, Alma Martinez and Tonya Rivas at Bella Home in Porterville. The family gratefully acknowledges Optimal Hospice Care for their gentle, excellent care and support.
