Bonnie Faye Isbell, 85, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2010. She was born November 25, 1924 in Oakland, California to the late Sylvester and Jessie Miller.

Bonnie lived in Manteca, California, for forty-six years.  She served the Manteca Unified School District for a total of 22 years as a teacher at Sequoia Elementary and then as a counselor.  

She was preceded in death by her sister, Jocelyn Mead, and her husband of 57 years, Edwin T. Isbell.  Edwin was the Minister of Music and Education at the First Baptist Church of Manteca from 1964-73 where Bonnie served as the church pianist/organist for 40 years.  Ed and Bonnie owned the Manteca Christian Bookstore from 1978 until 1985 when they both retired.  They enjoyed traveling around the United States, Canada and to Europe.

 She is survived by her brothers ~ Vernon Miller of Florida and Mayo Miller of South Lake Tahoe.  She is also survived by her four children ~ Pam McMickin and husband George of Lakewood, NM, Sharon Spinks and husband David of Lakewood, CO, Eric Isbell and wife Gayla of Manteca, CA, and Diana Blackledge and husband John of Riverside, CA.  Bonnie also had 5 grandchildren ~ Jennifer Cusano of Dallas, TX, Jamie Isbell of Rancho Cordova, CA, Brian Shannon of San Diego, CA, Michelle Helton and Nikki Reed of Riverside, CA, and 7 great-grandchildren.

Bonnie was a beloved and treasured wife, mother, sister, teacher, mentor and friend.  She was defined by her unwavering, deep faith in God and her loving dedication to her family.   “Well done, thou good and faithful servant.”  Matthew 25:21

Visitation will be held Friday, July 2, 2010 from 4 to 6 p.m. at P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home 290 N. Union Rd., Manteca.  Services will be held on Saturday, July 3, 2010 at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church 715 E. North St., Manteca.  She will be laid to rest at Parkview Cemetery, French Camp.
