Carla E. Jones passed away peacefully on March 17, 2011 surrounded by her family. She was born in San Francisco on March 10, 1936 to Elizabeth and James Hurley. Growing up in San Francisco, she was a lifetime fan of the 49ers and the Giants. She would watch the 49ers practice by her home. She worked as a bookkeeper and manager for State Employees Credit Union #84 at Deuel Vocational Institute in Tracy before retiring.

She adopted many pets over her lifetime, taking in strays and providing them with loving homes. Buster and Mattie are two of her adoptees and miss her love and comfort. Carla was passionate about animals and supported numerous organizations that advocated for their fair and humane treatment. She was also very concerned with the environment, supporting conservation and was an ardent recycler. Carla became a huge NASCAR fan in her retired years and knew all the stats of all the drivers. She was a great source of information on all things NASCAR.

Carla was preceded in death by her son, Michael Wills. She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Kenneth Jones, daughter Kathleen Brandt (Mitch) of Stockton, daughter Ellie Pedraza (Rich) of Manteca, daughter-in-law Connie Wills of Spring Valley, son Bruce Jones (Patricia) of Lodi, son Jim Jones (Evelyn) of AZ, son Mike Jones of WV, and sister Sharon Bingham(Carroll) of Napa; 13 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

There will be no services per her request, internment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Carla Jones’ name can be made to the local Humane Society.
