Carol Louise Hooper
November 30, 1943-December 29, 2014
Carol Hoper BW

Carol Louise Vallotton was born on November 30, 1943 in Palo Alto, CA to Hollis and Judy, we lost her suddendly to be with the Lord on December 29, 2014.
Carol lived in Chicago for many years where she met her husband of over 49 years Richard Hooper. From there they moved to California to start a new life with their twins Eric and Dawn in Modesto and then settling in Manteca to be closer to family where they made many life time friends.  After the kids had grown they moved to Oregon and to move her dad there were her brother and sister-in-law already resided. They had a beautiful home which they loved that sat right by the river.  After her father passed and Rich needed to follow another career path they moved to Groveland, which all of us were thrilled because now they were closer to us. They lived there for quite a while but had to make the hard decision to move to Louisiana so they could retire and be closer to Rich’s ill mother and sister.  She met many new friends there and even became a Red Hat! Although we were all very sad we knew that was best for them. Carol longed to move back to California to be closer to her sister and rest of the family but sadly that never happened.
Carol was always the matriarch of the family, she was there for an ear to bend when needed, always gave her honest opinion (in her “Aunt Carol “way of course) and when ever friends or family said let’s go, she had her bags packed and was ready for the next adventure.
She loved to travel, play games (especially her crosswords and scrabble), gamble and of course was the best bargain shopper ever! We will miss her great laugh, her giving heart and especially being a phone call away to be our “partner in crime.”
Carol was a strong believer in the Lord and attended church regularly, we ALL know because of her great spirit she is looking down on us as we speak from the beautiful place up above.
Carol is survived by her beloved husband Rich, her children Eric and Dawn Hooper, her sister Mary “sis” Sapp, her brother Spencer Vallotton.  She has six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.  Aunt to 10 nieces and nephews great aunt to 18 and great great aunt to 26.  She leaves behind many friends that were considered family too.
She is proceeded in death by her father and mother Hollis and Judy, sister Reda, brother Tom and his wife June and also her brother-in-law Jerry.
“Aunt Carol” would not want us to be sad, she would want us to carry on with life and live it to the fullest...
There will be a memorial service on January 31 at 11:00 am, Crossroads Community Church, 1505 Moffatt Blvd., Manteca, reception to follow at the same location.
