Carole Ann Valdez, 72, entered into rest on December 24, 2016 in Modesto. She was born on December 29, 1943 in San Jose to the late James and Loretta Kidward.
   She is preceded in death by her parents, brother James Kidward and her beloved husband Orlando Valdez.
Carole Ann is survived by her sons; Fred Altstadt and Steven Valdez. She was blessed by five grandchildren; Adam Altstadt, Joshua Altstadt, Tyler Valdez, Noah Valdez and Sydney Valdez and two great grandchildren; Leah Altstadt and Owen Altstadt. In addition she has one surviving sister Helene Haney. 
   Carole Ann made her home in Manteca for over 37 years.  She was a cosmetologist by trade and worked in the insurance industry for over 20 years; primarily working for All-State Insurance. She was a member of Christian Worship Center where she was involved with the grief support program. She enjoyed her friends at the Manteca Senior Center where she frequented weekly. Carole Ann was a social butterfly she enjoyed trips to local casino’s where she hoped to hit the “big one.” She was very adventurous traveling to Europe, Hawaii, Jamaica and locally she loved SF and Santa Cruz. Carole Ann loved unconditionally with a full and giving heart; she was the matriarch of her family always supporting her sons and grandchildren. With her simple, quirky, happy approach on life, Carole Ann lived life to the fullest.  She loved to laugh, smile and give of herself to others. She will be remembered as an amazing mother, loving grandmother and friend to all.  She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. 
   P.L. Fry & Son is honored to be serving the Valdez family. A visitation will be on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 1p.m. to 5 p.m. held at P.L. Fry, 290 N. Union Rd., Manteca. A celebration of life will be on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at 10 a.m. also held at P.L. Fry.  She will be laid to rest at Park View Cemetery.
