Caroline Pacheco, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, homemaker, cannery worker, forelady and longtime Manteca resident. She was born in Linden, CA onJune 23, 1924, entered into rest July 25, 2011 in Hughson, CA.
She is preceded in deathby parents Frank and Jeanette Konrath of Oakdale, her beloved husband of 61 years Carl C. Pacheco, and sister Francis Poe.
She is survived by sisters, Julia Webster of Escalon, and Emeline Mullikin of Pleasanton; brothers, Harold Konrath of Modesto and Frank Konrath of Manteca; daughters, Carolyn Pacheco and Charlotte Pacheco, both of Modesto; sons, Chet Pacheco of Orangevale, and Charles Pacheco (Judy) of Manteca; five grand children, Emily and John Benninghofen, Melinda Pacheco Patrick (Ian), Jeanette and Charles Pacheco III, and four great grandchildren, Everett, Lela, and Elsie Patrick, Justice Pacheco Seward; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Caroline worked on her father’s ranch in Oakdale as a young girl, later in life performed cannery work, eventually becoming a
forelady at Manteca Frozen Foods and later on a forelady at Valley Tomato Growers Assn. in Stockton. She became a specialties cake baker creating beautiful wedding and birthday cakes and was an outstanding seamstress.
She is remembered as a strong, vibrant, hard working woman, both in body and spirit that valued her family above all else. A great cook, especially noted for her famous homemade ravioli’s, and numerous other special dishes. Sheen joyed being a homemaker, working in her flower beds and on her many varied fruit trees. She loved bowling, camping with their motor home, fishing, and traveling, taking cruise ship trips, and sharing her wonderful stories of her upbringing and early
ranch life.
Visitation will be held on Monday, August 1, 2011 from 1pm-7pm followed by a rosary/vigil at 7pm both held at P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home, 290 N. Union Rd., Manteca, CA. Mass will be held August 2,2011 at 10am held at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 19399 E State Highway 120, Ripon, CA. She will be laid to rest at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery – Escalon, CA.
