Carolyn J. Moritz, 71, passed peacefully away on Wednesday, April 29, 2009. She was born June 4, 1937 in Oakland.

She has lived in Manteca for the past 9 years, previously residing in the Bay Area. Carol was a devoted wife, mother and nana, always cherishing the time she spent with her family. She is survived by her husband of nearly 23 years, Wesley E. Moritz of Manteca; two wonderful children Paul Garcia and wife Nina of San Ramon and Amber Schmidig and husband Frank of Acampo. She was also blessed with six amazing grandchildren.

Mrs. Moritz was a warm and tender woman. She enjoyed the simple things in life; relaxing on the front porch watching the birds, caring for her flowers and playing with her loyal dogs; Sweetie, Mickey and Honey. She was a collector of everything, her eyes always finding the flashy, sparkly and glittery items. Her true passion was her crafts; she was always making a variety of things from teddy bears to greeting cards and T-shirts. There wasn’t anything she couldn’t accomplish once she set her mind to it. She was also an excellent cook and when she got the chance she loved to try her luck at the slot machines. Carol will forever be Wes’ “Princess” and she will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, May 6, at 11 a.m. at P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home, 290 North Union Road, Manteca. Arrangements are under the direction of P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home. An online guestbook is available at www.plfryandson.com.
