Charles (Charlie) Laverne Hodges, age 86, died in Modesto, California on September 16, 2016. He was born to Ted and Etta Hodges on May 28, 1930 in Fair Grove, Missouri.
   While in high school he met his future wife, Erma Breshears. Charlie moved to San Diego, CA when he joined the Navy in 1949. He married Erma in 1952 and brought her to sunny San Diego. They remained in San Diego County for over forty years until retiring to Hemet, California in 1995, and moved to their Manteca, California residence in December 2007. Charlie was a member of several Masonic organizations, including Lakeside Lodge, Anchor Court #94 and Jewel Shrine #99.
   Survivors include his son, A. Scott Hodges (Susan) in Castle Rock, Colorado, his daughter, Sheryl Flint (Tim) in Manteca, California, and his sister, Kathleen Wommack (Jerroll) in Republic, Missouri.
   Charlie was preceded in death by Erma, his beloved wife of sixty three years, who died on January 3, 2016, his parents, and his sister, Nadine Lumley.
   No services will be held. Interment will be at El Camino Memorial Park, San Diego, California.
