Charles “Chuck” Mayland, 63, entered into rest on May 12, 2011 in Manteca, California. He was born on October 19, 1947 in Oakland, California to the late Mr. and Mrs. Wayne and Floyjean Mayland.

Chuck is survived by his two children Brian Mayland and Matt Mayland both of Arizona. He was blessed with one grandson Tim Nelson. In addition Chuck has two surviving brothers Jeff Mayland of Jackson and Mike Mayland of Nevada. He was a resident of Manteca for over 33 years. He currently worked for Lodi School District teaching at Lodi Adult School. Before his teaching career Chuck served his country through the National Guard for six years. When his sons were growing up Chuck was extremely supportive in all of their sports and school activities. He was very involved with the Manteca Area Soccer League coaching his sons and other community children for many years. He was also a coach at Tracy High School for their swim team.

Chuck was passionate with his teaching and coaching; he respected the children as well as their parents as they in return respected him. When not teaching and coaching Chuck enjoyed yard work; he was a natural at making his yard look beautiful. Mr. Mayland’s services are being handled by P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home of Manteca. A service in his honor will be held on Saturday June 11, 2011 at 11 a.m. held at P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home 290 N. Union Road, Manteca, Ca.
