Charlotte Joyce Douma, 94, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2022 in Ripon, CA. Charlotte was born on October 15, 1927 in Truman, MN to parents, Elmer and Elizabeth Levik. She has been a resident of Ripon since 1960.
Charlotte married her husband, Clarence Douma in 1947, the two shared 52 years of marriage together before Clarence’s passing in 1999. Together the two loved to travel and shared many
adventures. Charlotte loved to stay busy. She was a true people person that never met a stranger. Once a resident of Bethany Home in Ripon, Charlotte coordinated her beloved Tuesday Night Gatherings with her girlfriends. She will be remembered for her gracious
attitude and her generosity to others, to know her was to love her.
Charlotte leaves behind her children, Ron Douma (Ina) and Robin Hewlett (Sam), her grandchildren, Shawn Douma (Tess), Heather Aguilar (Michael), Jayson Hewlett (Becky) and Michael Hewlett (Kari) along with 10 great-grandchildren. Charlotte is preceded in death by her
husband, Clarence, her two sisters and one brother and her infant son, David.
Deegan Funeral Chapels is honored to serve the Douma family. A memorial service is scheduled for Monday, February 14th at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Reformed Church in Ripon. Donations in Charlotte’s memory may be made to Bethany Home.
