Charlyn Jill Suarez Sultana of Davis succumbed to her battle with lung cancer at the age of 39, early September 2nd, 2016 at Kaiser Permanente, Roseville.
   She leaves behind her husband, Dan; her two beautiful daughters, Isabella and Katelyn; brothers William, Ben, and Michael; her mother Fe Lomojo Suarez; as well as extended family, and friends lucky enough to be part of her chosen family.
   Charlyn was born in Stockton and grew up in nearby Lathrop. In 1994, she graduated from East Union High School (Manteca) and UC Davis with a Bachelors of Science in Genetics in 1999. She served as an Teaching Assistant and Researcher (Undergraduate and Postgraduate) in the UC Davis Genetics Department, contributing to academic research papers related to genetics and statistics. After graduation, she worked as a Bioinformatics Associate and Programmer before devoting her energies to being a loving, full-time mother and active participant in her daughter’s lives, volunteering every week at her daughter's school, Fairfield Elementary in Davis.
   In lieu of flowers, an online funding web page has been created (https://www.youcaring.com/charlyn) in memory of Charlyn and to help support her family.
   Rosary will be held Wednesday, September 7th, 2016, at  6 p.m. at the Smith Funeral Home, in Davis. Family and friends may pay their respects from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at the funeral home.
A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, September 8th, 2016, 10:00am at St. James Catholic Church, in Davis with interment following at the Davis Cemetery District & Arboretum.
