Chizuko Yokoyama Honzell

On Tuesday, January 22, 2019, Chizuko Yokoyama Honzell, wife, mother, daughter, grandmother and sister, passed away at the age of 87, of pneumonia just months after being diagnosed with cancer. 

   Chizuko is predeceased by two of her loving children, Patricia and Cathy, two grandchildren, one great grandchild and her parents. 

   Chizuko is survived by her husband and best friend John, and their daughters, Mary Ann and Sondra, five grand- children, 13 great grandchildren and two sisters whom live in Japan and one sister in Marin County.

   Chizuko was born and raised in Tokyo, Japan where she had gone to school to become a professional seamstress, specializing in silk. In 1949 she had met her husband John, who was in the military traveling overseas. On March 18, 1952, Chizuko and John married in Japan before coming to the states and starting their loving family. Chizuko and John traveled overseas and throughout the 
states as their family grew. Chizuko is remembered as a wonderful mother who was classy, well dressed and had a great
sense of humor. For the last few years she loved to see her two great grand- daughters, Naomi and Jaelyn, as they gave her life. Her family will always remember her as “Mom”.

   A private ceremony was held at Park View Funeral Home, 3661 E. French Camp Road in Manteca.
