Surrounding by his loving family, Christopher A. Mateo, 69, entered into rest on June 14, 2022 in Lathrop, Ca. He was born in the Philippines on September 9, 1952 to the late Rosalina and Gregorio Mateo. He is preceded in death by his two siblings, George and Noel.  He was a resident of Lathrop for over 15 years.

   Mr. Mateo is survived by his loving wife of 49 years Corazon Mateo, daughters, Christeen Mateo and Charity Ragosa, grandchildren, Michele, Mario, Christopher and Bruce, siblings, Shirley, Robin, Jane, Francis, Roberta and Carmen.

   A devoted father, husband and friend, Christopher proudly served his country through the United States Navy. He received his bachelors degree through San Jose State University in Economics.  He retired after 36 years from the United States Postal Service. Upon retirement, Christopher became the Store Keeper for San Joaquin County and retired once again after serving his county for four years. 

   Christopher was passionate about his community. He was past Board of Directors Vice-Chairman of San Joaquin County, board member for San Joaquin County Growth and Economics, first elected Filipino Vice Mayor of the City of Lathrop (2011) and Councilmember for the City of Lathrop.

   Health was very important to Christopher, he enjoyed playing golf, running marathons, Hawaii and Disneyland where some of the few he participated in. He was an avid cyclist, commonly cycling from San Jose to Lathrop to visit family. Christopher raised money for the AIDS Foundation cycling for five days from San Francisco to Los Angeles.   Christopher will be remembered for his practical thinking, his optimistic attitude and his love he displayed towards God family and country. He will be missed by all who loved and cared for him.

   P.L. Fry & Son is honored to be serving the Mateo family. He will be laid to rest in a public graveside service at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery 5810 Midway Rd, Dixon, Ca.
