Claude was born to James and Marion Carr on August 15, 1936 in Hannibal, MO. He passed away with his family by his side on October 22, 2011.

Claude grew up on a farm, learning a strong work ethic. He was a hard worker and started out on a dairy as a young man. He married the love of his life, Meldia in Reno, NV in 1954. He moved his family to San Jose in 1960 and started his career as a roofer, and became a roofing contractor. He loved gardening and just spending time outdoors. Claude loved sports, especially softball. He was a member of Northern California Senior Softball Association and a team member of Big Valley Seniors.

Claude is survived by his wife of 57 years, Meldia Carr and his children Brenda Bedal of Salida and April Matts of Manteca. He was blessed with four grandchildren, Roxanne, (Ryan) Strmiska, Andy Matts, Joey Matts and Sammy Matts and four great grandchildren who he loved very much. He was always a big fan in all of their sport activities. A great grandchild, Ian Strmiska preceded him in death. Claude is also survived by brothers; Gene Carr of Elmer, Missouri, Kenneth Bruner of Paola, Kansas and Jack Bruner of Longview, Washington.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday October 27, 2011 at 2PM at Lakewood Memorial Park, 900 Santa Fe Ave., Hughson.
