Connie Taberna, 80, entered into rest on January 21, 2009 in Manteca. She was born to Mr. and Mrs. Raymond and Louise Luevano on January 27, 1928. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Robert Taberna Sr. and grandson Robbie Taberna.
Mrs. Taberna is survived by her sons; Larry and wife Margaret Bermudez of Sacramento, Robin and wife Janis Taberna of Manteca, and Tommie and wife Sharon Taberna of Manteca. Her siblings are Raymond Luevano, Rosie Gomez, Eleanor Beshard, Loretta Arteaga, Vince Tablet, Donald Luevano, Kathryn Reyes. She was also very blessed by her grandchildren; Stephen, Kathy, Frank, Robin Jr., Kimberly, Tina, Ricky, Tony, Jenna, and Brandon and 11 great-grandchildren.
Connie was a homemaker for over 65 years. She loved cooking and worked at Manteca Care and Rehab as a cook at one time. She had a very special place in her heart for children and enjoyed babysitting. Her yard was always kept just right, as she found serenity tending her flowers. Connie will be remembered as the rock and foundation of the Taberna family. She was always giving, loving and supportive in all that she did.
Mrs. Taberna’s services are being handled by P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Tuesday January 27, 2009 from 1 to 5 p.m. at P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home. A Prayer service will be held on Wednesday January 28, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home 290 N. Union Rd. Manteca. She will be laid to rest with her beloved husband at East Union Cemetery.
