Costoula Vourakis, 94, entered into eternal rest on Friday, July 22, 2011 in Manteca surrounded by her loving children. She is
preceded in death by her husband, the late Anthony Vourakis of Manteca, as well as her parents and siblings.

Costoula leaves behind her 2 children, daughter Artemis Vourakis and son Hercules “Herk” Vourakis, both of Manteca. She leaves many nieces and nephews all over the United States and Greece that loved their aunt dearly.

Costoula was a native of Greece, making her home in Manteca with husband Anthony since 1947. She was a faithful member of The Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Modesto, as well as the Philoptohos and Sisterhood Eleftheria chapters in Modesto. Costoula raised her children in a traditional Greek home where Christianity and Respect came first. She was a caring person and was considered as a second mother to many that came to know and love her.  Warm hospitality would always be waiting for anyone at Costoula’s house as she was a 'homemaker extraordinaire', fondly described by her family.  Costoula had a heart of gold and truly believed in everyone’s goodwill. She made room in her heart for everyone that came to know her. Costoula will always be remembered for being a sweet loving mother to her children. She was one of the first Greek Pioneers to settle in Manteca during that era and now there are none left from that era.  She will be dearly missed

Mrs. Vourakis' services are being handled by P.L. Fry and Son Funeral Home. 290 North Union Road. Visitation will be
Wednesday from 1pm – 7pm followed by a Trisagion at 7 pm. A Funeral Service will be held at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 313 Tokay Ave., Modesto, CA. She will be laid to rest at Park View Cemetery alongside her husband.
