 The morning of October 2, 2015, Curtis Earl Hawthorne passed away at his home in Escalon, California after a long battle with cancer. Curtis was 68 years old.
  Curtis was born in French Camp, CA on August 15, 1947. He was oldest of three children born to the late Fayetty Earl “Buzz” and Helen Hawthorne. Curtis and his family lived in Manteca, California and attended Manteca schools. Curtis was a varsity football lineman at Manteca High School and graduated from Manteca High in 1965. He continued his education and football career at Taft College.
  Curtis began working at Sharpe Army Depot in 1969. He retired from Sharpe’s after 30 years of service in 1999.
  Curtis married his loving wife Linda in 1977. They celebrated their 38th wedding anniversary February 19, 2015.
  Curtis loved watching all types of sports, especially football. He was a dedicated 49ers fan. He was also an avid book reader and enjoyed playing cards with friends and family.
  Curtis is survived by his wife Linda Hawthorne, daughter Brenna Wickham (Carl), and sisters Nanci Gruber (Richard) and Gayle Prater (Neil). Curtis is also survived by nieces, cousins, other family members and friends that will carry him in their hearts forever.
