Daniel Craig Cathey, 76, entered into eternal rest on February 12, 2012 in Sonora, California. He was born on December 20, 1935 in Camden, Arkansas. He is preceded in death by his two brothers, Billy and Jimmy Cathey, and his great-grandson Cash Jackson Durao.
Mr. Cathey is survived by his loving wife Vida of 57 beautiful years. His daughters are Michell Durao and Danell McCleary and her husband Stacy. He was blessed with 5 grandchildren Janell, Nicole, Craig, Brian, and Joell, and 9 great-grandchildren. He has one surviving sister, Kate Isbell.
Craig lived in Sonora for 26 years, but spent most of his life time in Manteca. He worked for Tiechert Construction in Stockton for 25 years and was a member of Labors Union Local 73. He enjoyed traveling in their RV and he especially loved fishing and NASCAR. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, father and grandfather.
P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Cathey family. A visitation will be held on February 16, 2012 at P.L. Fry & 290 N. Union Rd. in Manteca from 1 to 5 p.m. A Celebration of Life will be held on February 17, 2012 at P.L. Fry & Son at 11 a.m. He will be laid to rest at the East Union Cemetery.
