Denise Carpenter Hinojosa, 61, entered into rest on January 9, 2013 in Stockton, CA. She was born on August 9, 1951 in Stockton CA. She joins her father Edgar Harris in heaven.

Denise is survived by her husband of 18 years Frank Hinojosa. Her beloved mother is Ruby Harris. She has one daughter Deanna Carpenter. She was blessed by four grandchildren Kayla and Karlie Grey, Destiny DeGroot and Michael Gilstrap. She has two siblings Carolyn Dorman and Larry Combs. In addition, Denise is survived by her two very best friends Trina Murphy and Sharon Matthews as well as her extended family members who loved her dearly.

Denise was a resident of Manteca and Stockton since 1971. She was employed by H & R Block for over 26 years as a tax preparation accountant. From 1978-1990 she was a yard supervisor for Shasta School where she loved interacting with the children. While Denise’s daughter was growing up she was extremely involved in her extracurricular activities. She was always the first to volunteer as room mother, team mom, Brownie leader and Sunday school teacher. Denise enjoyed “planning.” She loved special events as her forte was designing flower arrangements, making wedding cakes and putting decorations together. She always looked forward to the newest planned adventure in traveling. She enjoyed trips to Reno, Pismo Beach, Hawaii, Yosemite and Disneyland. Wherever Denise was she always made time for shopping. She never missed a “Super Sale” or an opportunity to visit a craft fair. Among all of her enjoyments her true love was her daughter and grandchildren. She was always overwhelmed with the love and the blessings that they gave her. Denise will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

P.L. Fry & Son is honored to be serving the Carpenter-Hinojosa family. A visitation will be held on Monday, January 14, 2013 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at P.L. Fry & Son, 290 N. Union Rd., Manteca. A service will he held on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Higgins Mortuary, 1310 A Street, Antioch. She will be laid to rest at Oakview Memorial Park, Antioch.
