Denise Schermerhorn, 55, died on Sunday, February 21. Her Husband Wayne Schermerhorn, whom preceded her in death 19 years ago, came to help guide her to the light on Sunday, February 21, while surrounded by her family. Born in San Mateo, California and raised in Sunnyvale, California, she moved to the city of Ripon 9 years  ago.  

Denise was very devoted to her family and friends. An avid animal lover and gardener, loved to be outdoors with nature. Survived by her father Hugh James Staight and Carole Curtis of Sonora, mother Jennie F. LoMonaco-Staight of Ripon, her son Brian Schermerhorn of San Jose, sister Lori Staight  - Mendoza of Ripon, brother-in-law Jorge Mendoza of Ripon; niece Nicole Eddlemon and Anthony Branco of Ripon; great-nephew Devin Branco of Ripon; uncle Pete LoMonaco  of El Sobrante, uncle and aunt Donald and Carolyn Staight of Pacifica, uncle and aunt Joe and Doreen Wiley of Tigard, Oregon, and numerous loving  cousins and friends.  

Grave site service and burial to be held at Alta Mesa Cemetery, 695 Arastradero Road, Palo Alto, CA.  94306, Friday, March 12, at 1 p.m.  

In lieu of flowers donations  to the following organizations preferred: Community Hospice. American  Cancer Society, or your favorite animal shelter/rescue organization.
