Dora Perez, 80, entered into rest on May 1, 2012 in San Leandro, CA. She was born on May 20, 1931 in Riverside, CA. She joins her husband in heaven Joseph Perez, and her daughter and son-in-law Emilia Gonzalez and Jose Gonzalez.

Mrs. Perez is survived by her loving children; Cecil Perez (Lori), Valerie Leon and Linda Hassler (Duane). She was blessed with 14 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. In addition Dora has two surviving sisters; Helen Melendez (Louie) and Jennie Espinoza (Ralph).

Dora was in the medical field for over 30 years as a home health care nurse. She was a member of St. Joachim in Hayward where she was a devote Catholic. She was also a member of Eagles Auxiliary #1139 where she served as past president. She enjoyed crocheting, bingo and gardening. She was an avid Oakland A’s fan always cheering on her home team to victory. Dora was always a happy person often singing and dancing with her wonderful sense of humor. Dora felt her true gift in life was the gift of her children and grandchildren; she loved them unconditionally as she always made each of them feel special. Dora will be remembered for the loving spirit.

P.L. Fry & Son is honored to be serving the Perez family. A visitation will be held on Saturday May 5, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. followed by a prayer service at 12:30 p.m. held at P.L. Fry & Son Chapel, 290 N. Union Rd., Manteca. She will be laid to rest with her beloved husband on Tuesday, May 8th, at 1:00 p.m., at Parkview Cemetery.
