Beloved mother, grand mother, and great- grand mother, Doreen Marie Steves passed from this life on December 14, 2012, at the age of 66. Doreen was born on July 30, 1946 in the San Joaquin area and lived in the valley her entire life. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Edna Steves, brothers, Tommy, Larry and Frank Jr. Steves, and an infant sibling, husband, Keith Weber and grandson, Brandon Valdez.
Doreen took pride in volunteering many years in the A.A. Program, as a sponsor and counselor. Throughout her 20+years of service, she helped an immense amount of people at their time of need. Some of her most enjoyable years were spent with her husband Keith Weber. They had a home on Roosevelt St. in Manteca where her children made lifelong friendships.
Doreen is survived by her sister, Betty Pratt (husband, Chubby), brother Bobby Steves (wife, Delores), daughter, Danielle Davis (husband, Shawn), and sons, Rick Valdez (wife, Shirley) and Matt Valdez (wife, Stephanie). She was a grandmother, better known as Kockie-D, to seven grandchildren, Britney Davis, Bailey Davis, Rikki Valdez, Jason Robinson, Justin Valdez (Crystal Disch), Emma Valdez and Bryce Valdez, and four great-grandchildren, Attyson, Jayden, Brooklynne and Ashlynne Valdez and soon to be born, Josiee James Valdez.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at 11:00a.m. at Park View Cemetery & Funeral Home at 3661 French Camp Rd., in Manteca. Immediately following the service, the reception will be held at the American Legion at 220 E. Yosemite Ave., also in Manteca.
