Doris Silva, 89, entered into rest on October 27, 2016 in Manteca, California. She was born on September 15, 1927 in San Jose, California to the late Frank and Mary Gomes. She is preceded in death by her parents as well as her husband Joseph Silva, her son David Joseph David Silva and her sister Lorraine Cardoza.
Mrs. Silva is survived by her daughter; Yvonne Rodrigues (Leonard). She was blessed by 5 grandchildren; Billy Andreetta (Melanie), Sarah Quaresma (Richard), Sally Andreetta, Matthew Silva, and Martin Silva and 7 great-grandchildren; Joseph Quaresma, Kynnady Andreetta, Tatum Andreetta, Jillian Quaresma, Sophia Quaresma, Emily Silva and Abby Rose Silva as well as one sister Dorothy King.
Doris was a resident of Manteca for 71 years where she was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. In her younger years she enjoyed traveling with her husband, dancing and attending local social gatherings. She was a simple lady who loved gardening, eating out at local restaurants and visiting friends over a cup of tea and a challenging game of cards.  Doris had a gift of creativity; knitting many blankets, scarfs, caps and socks for family, friends and church organizations. Doris loved jewelry, always matching each accessory precisely to her daily ensemble. Doris will be remembered as a devoted wife and  mother, a wonderful grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be deeply missed.
The Silva family would like to thank Dr. Wolf and his outstanding staff for the care and support they have given Doris throughout the years. They would also like to thank Bethany Home in Ripon, for the extended love and care they have shown.
P.L. Fry & Son is honored to be serving the Silva family. A visitation will be held on Thursday November 3, 2016 from 3 to 7 p.m. at P.L. Fry & Son 290 N. Union Rd. Manteca, Ca. A Mass will be held at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church 525 E. North St. Manteca, Ca. on Friday, November 4,2016 11 a.m. She will be laid to rest with her beloved husband at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery.
