    Dorothy Ann Faria, 82, entered into rest on January 31, 2015 in Manteca, CA. She was born on November 2, 1932 in Stevenson to the late Mr. and Mrs. Manuel and Frances Silva. In heaven she joins her parents and her husband James Faria.
    Dorothy is survived by her five children Michael Faria, Steve Faria (Carmen), Mark Faria (Samria), Loren Faria and Melanie Faria. She was blessed by eight grandchildren; Clinton, Paul, Dominic, Nicole, James, Jason, Ashley and Courtney and six great-grandchildren; Payton, Riley, Zander, Ethan, Ava and Benni. In addition, Dorothy has two surviving sisters; Elsie Silva and Arlene Soares.
    In the early 60’s Dorothy and her husband owned and operated Faria Poultry Farms on Main Street where they were well known for their fresh processed chicken. Later she went to work at Laura Scudder’s out of Tracy were she retired after 20 years of employment. Dorothy was a member of St. Antony’s Catholic Church where she was involved in YLI, St. Vincent de Paul, and past president of the Legion of Mary. Outside of church Dorothy participated in praying the rosary at many funerals, broke communion with many needy elders and church members as well as, worked countless hours with the blood bank. Dorothy volunteered where ever the need was desired; her giving heart never went unnoticed. Although Dorothy’s heart and love was her church she also enjoyed cooking and a day out with her daughter shopping. Dorothy will be remembered for her giving spirit and her zest for life and her unconditional love for others. She will be deeply missed.
    P.L. Fry is honored to be serving the Faria family. A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 5, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. followed by a rosary/vigil at 7:00 p.m. both held at P.L. Fry & Son Chapel, 290 N. Union Rd., Manteca, CA. Mass will be held on Friday, February 6, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, 505 E. North Street, Manteca, CA. She will be laid to rest at a later date at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be sent to St. Vincent de Paul, 505 E. North St., Manteca, CA.
