Dorothy Littlefield BW

 Dorothy Littlefield, age 79, went to be with Jesus on August 8, 2014, at her home of 48 years with her family by her side. Born in Ripon to the late Manuel and Maria Esteves, she was a resident of Modesto for 48 years. Dorothy was a member of Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church and a faithful attendee until she became ill. She loved her husband Roy, her children, all her family, and friends unconditionally. She also enjoyed camping, spending time with family, and attending her children and grandchildren’s sporting and school events. She was a preschool teacher for over 20 years and that was her passion.
   She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, the late Mary Costa, Annabel Huarte, and Rita Baldwin, her brothers, the late Manuel Esteves Jr. and Jesse Esteves. She is survived by her husband of 49 years Roy Littlefield, son Mark and wife (Tammie) Littlefield of Copperopolis: son Gary Littlefield of Modesto: and daughter Lori and husband (Darrell) of Hughson; her four granddaughters, Heather, Taylor, Siera and Megan, her  great-grandchildren Noah and Patricia, her brother, Frank Esteves of Manteca and sisters Dolores Esteves of Manteca and Josephine Schneider of Tracy.
   A special thanks to Pro Transport and all of their EMT’s who transported Dorothy to and from dialysis three times a week for six years, all the staff at Provident Care and Access Healthcare, especially Christina Sargent. She was Dorothy’s caregiver for almost six years. The staff at Satellite Dialysis, Dr. Ronak Shah and his nurse Nancy, Nancy Gutierez from Saint Joseph’s Church who has been coming each week to give Dorothy communion.
   Visitation will be Wednesday, August 13, 2014, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Lakewood Funeral Home, 900 Santa Fe Ave., Hughson, and rosary at 6 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, August 14, 2014, at 10 a.m. at Saint Jude’s Catholic Church, 3824 Mitchell Rd., Ceres, California. Burial to follow at Lakewood Cemetery. Luncheon to follow burial at The Fruityard Restaurant,  7948 Yosemite Blvd., Modesto.
