Duane Alfred Williams, 76, of Manteca passed away on August 23, 2021.  Duane was born on March 29, 1945, in Ashland, Kentucky.
   In 1965 at age 20 he enlisted in the US Navy where he served 10 years.  During those 10 years he served two tours in Vietnam as a Radio Airman.   Duane spent many years in law enforcement.  He was a Dispatcher for the Manteca Police Department, a Pound Master for the City of Manteca, a Reserve Police Officer for the Manteca Police Department, A Correctional Officer in numerous prisons in Northern and Southern California and retired in 1997 as a Parole Officer in Oakland, California.  
   Duane enjoyed music and spent his early years in a band (Rogue River Band) where he sang and played the guitar.  He appreciated classic cars and enjoyed building them.  He was also a member of a local car club for many years.  He was a Green Bay Packers fan, liked going fishing, shooting at the gun range, and spending time with his grandchildren trying to teach them the ways of the world!
   Duane was survived by his wife of 40 years, Linda Marie Williams, his children, Tony Williams (Cricket), Sandra Warren (John), Glen Robison (Christin), and Tammy Williams. He was also survived by 18 grandchildren, five great- grandchildren and his sister Karen Moulder (Steve).
   He was preceded in death by his children, Michael Williams and Yvette Williams, his parents, James and Pauline Williams, and his brother, Leslie Williams.
   The celebration of life will be held on October 9, 2021, from 1-5:00  p.m. at the MRPS Hall, located at 133 N. Grant Avenue, in Manteca.
