Eddie passed away in his home on December 13, 2016 after a three year battle with cancer.  He was born in Newtonia, MO, spent his early childhood in Granby, MO, staying many summers with his grandparents on their Missouri farm.  
   In 1948 his parents moved to Manteca. There he attended Manteca  High School and Modesto Junior College.
  Eddie was a former Manteca resident. After serving three years in the Army he returned home to become a UPS driver in Stockton, CA, later a manager of the UPS center in Vallejo and Livermore.
Prior to retirement he was an owner-franchisee of the 7-Eleven Store on Boulevard Way, Walnut Creek, CA.  At the 7-Eleven he enjoyed the friendships of the long time customers and business associates.
  Nothing brought Eddie more joy than baseball.  He was proud to serve on the Pleasant Hill baseball associate board of directors, 1978 season.  With his sons Eddie and Richard always on his team, he coached and managed PHBA teams for many years.  He believed that every boy who wanted to play ball should have that opportunity.
  He leaves his wife Patricia, his son Richard (Shelley) Sanders of Orinda, granddaughter Cambria (Karen) Sanders of Elk Grove, sister Saundra (Walter) Stinnett of Manteca and aunt Rosalie (DePriest) McMullin of Stockton.
   He was predeceased by his son Eddie Sanders Jr. of Elk Grove, parents Thelma and Jack, and sister Delane Sanders. and survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins.
