Edna was born in North Tonawanda, NY, the sixth of seven daughters born to the late Pauline Paige Mathews and Thomas Mathews. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 47 years, Leo in 1985, and by six sisters and brothers-in-law, a niece and several nephews.
    She leaves two daughters, Patricia (Vincent) Moretti and Judith (the late John) Moretti, seven grandchildren (four with spouses), 16 great grandchildren (three with spouses) and three great-great grandchildren, and one on the way, as well as many nieces and nephews and their families.
   Edna lived in Manteca for 10 years after living in Castro Valley for 50 years. She worked for 20 years in the school cafeteria as a baker for the Hayward School District. She was a loving caregiver for Leo after he suffered a very serious industrial accident in 1961.
   Always a kind, caring and loving person, she enjoyed spending time with her family. Mom, we love you and miss you so very much.
   Private inurnment was held at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Hayward.
   Please join our family for the celebration of her life on Saturday, November 23, 2013, at 12:00p.m. to 3:00p.m., at the Almond Blossom Estates club house, 1901 E. Yosemite Ave., Manteca (enter on Pestana Ave.).
