Eileen Clayton Stokes

Eileen was born March 1, 1915 in Modesto, CA to Lawson Clayton and Eunice Rushton Clayton. Her parents separated and divorced soon after her birth. Her mother Eunice, then married Hans Sorensen and a combined family was formed as he had three children and she had two. Eileen went to school in San Francisco for a short time where she met Paul R. Stokes of Visalia, CA. They married Jan. 11, 1937 in San Francisco, CA and began their life together. They eventually settled in Visalia and raised their family, a daughter Sandra Lee and a son Paul Richard. Eileen was the registrar at Redwood High School for several years and Paul had his own business as a barber. As they aged they came to live in Manteca where Paul died and eventually Eileen went to live at Manteca Care. She was lovingly cared for by wonderful attendants for over 20 years, becoming their oldest resident.

Eileen is survived by her daughter Sandra McNairyBreickler (Bud), her son Paul and his wife Sharon and daughter Kimberly. Eileen’s grandchildren include Heather Enos (Anthony), great grand children; Portia Sandoval, daughter Neveah, Autumn Sandoval, daughter Cinnamon, Jordanne Joseph, son Ryder, Macy Green (Bobby) son Carson, Anthony Enos Jr., Cameron McNairy (Candyce) great-grandchildren Conner, Collin, Caeden, Andrea Wright (Jeff) great grandchildren; Reagan, Grant, Addison, Kendyl; great grand daughter Caroline Richard and daughter Felecia, great granddaughter Mallory Pruit, of Stockton. She also has two loving nephews; Patrick and Randy Butler. She was the last of her generation.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Union Ward. Internment is at Ripon Cemetery
