Services will be held as follows, a visitation is scheduled on Thursday, April 26, 2012 at 1pm to 5pm at PL Fry & Son Funeral Home and a Chapel Service will be held on Friday, April 27, 2012 at 12:30pm at PL Fry & Son Funeral Home, 290 N. Union Road, Manteca, for native born Manteca resident Elaine A. Jorgensen, 86, who passed on April 21.

She was a parishioner of St. Anthony's Catholic Church and a long-time member of The Legion of Mary over which she once presided. She loved flowers and having a beautiful garden. She enjoyed sewing, knitting and crocheting. She avidly crocheted many afghans for family and friends. She took special pride in the pies she would bake for family events. She enjoyed joining her Ripon High School graduates for monthly lunches. She always looked forward to the Clark Fork camping trips that she and her late husband, Ernie, would take with their family, neighbors and friends.

Her family was of the utmost importance to her. For her, shared family times were cherished times. She was especially fond of the time she spent with her grandson. She will always be remembered for her generous and caring nature. She was always there for family and friends. She was a strong woman who could always be counted on to help navigate the way through both calm and difficult times.

Mrs. Jorgensen is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Mattson and her husband Dennis of Manteca, her grandchild Michael Mattson and his wife Kristin of Winters, her great-grandchild Sylvia, and her nieces and nephews and their children.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ernest Jorgensen, her parents, Joe and Rose Souza and her siblings Donald Souza and Judith White.
