Elroy Fredriks was born to Ilo and Henrietta Fredriks in Luverne, Minnesota in 1937. He attended grammar school in Minnesota before moving to Ripon, California in 1951. Graduating from Ripon High School in 1954, Elroy went on to earn his AA Degree from Humphries College of Stockton in 1956. 
   He worked in the auto industry in the Accounting and parts departments. Elroy bought his family farm in 1978 and farmed until 2002. He enjoyed traveling, fishing, and camping with family and friends. A devoted member of Calvary Church, Elroy served as a Church Deacon, Elder, Treasurer, and Choir Member.
   Elroy leaves behind his loving wife Ardell Fredriks of 57 years, his children Cheryl Kapferer (husband Robert) of Concord, Dean Fredriks (wife Maila) of Martinez, and Michael Fredriks (wife Ann) of Ripon, his grandchildren Lauryn Otten, Ryan Otten, Stevie Thurber (husband Rob), Savannah Kapferer, Claire Kidd (husband Jeremy), Dale Fredriks, Andria Fredriks, Blake Fredriks, Megan Fredriks, Emily Fredriks, and three great-grandchildren. Elroy is also survived by his brother Robert Fredriks (wife Cathy), sisters Sharon Garcia and Karla Fredriks, nieces and nephews.
   The Fredriks family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to in-home caregiver Barbara Segaar as well as in-home nurse Sharon Sullivan.
   In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Calvary Reformed Church Foundation, at 741 Second St., Ripon, CA 95366. Deegan Ripon Memorial Chapel, is honored to be serving the Fredriks Family. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, June 14th at 10 a.m at Ripon Cemetery, followed by a memorial service at 11a.m at Calvary Reformed Church, in Ripon.
