Ernest Richard Davis Sr, 86, of Manteca CA. passed away on Sunday, September 23, 2012 in Pleasanton, CA. He was born November 18, 1925 in Muscatine Iowa, to the late John Harden Davis and Sylvia Hazel Davis.

Ernest served in the US Navy as a gunner’s mate 3rd class and was stationed in Australia, and then went on to have a 50 year career in the glass industry until retiring from Ball Glass in Illinois. Ernest greatly enjoyed spending time with his family and his friends at his residence at The Commons in Manteca, watching his SF Giants games, and he was an avid western book and movie buff.

Ernie leaves behind his loving children, son, Ernest Davis, Jr. and wife, Linda and daughter, Patrice Hoover and husband Richard, all from Tracy, CA. Also, his first wife and mother of his children, Jewel Davis of San Leandro, CA, siblings, Melvin Davis of Hayward, CA, and Twyla Stauffer of New Boston,Illinois. Ernest was also blessed with four grandchildren, Joshua Hoover, Kyle Hoover,

Scott Davis and Wende Thompson and three great grand children, Jeffery Domenichelli, Richard Domenichelli and Liam Swinnerton-Davis. He was preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter Deborah MacDonald, and by his second wife, Irma Davis and third wife, Georgia Davis. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Fry Memorial Chapel, 550 S. Central Avenue, is honored to serve the Davis family. In following with Ernest’s final wishes, all services will take place privately with the family. Any memorial contributions can be made in his name to the Disabled American Veterans, Attn: Gift Processing, PO Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301
