Eugene “ Chub” Edward Vierra, 95, entered into rest at his home in Manteca, CA on July 23, 2015.  He was born February 10,1920 in Turlock, CA.
   He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years Candida Vierra, also his brothers; John, Pete, George, Jim and sisters; Lorraine (Babe), June and Diane.       He was survived by sisters; Ruth Horn, Irene Segale, and Marie Coppock. His loving children, are Candida Grissom, Eugene Vierra Jr, Robert Vierra and Rose Jensen. He was blessed by 15 grandchildren; Julie Wyrsh, Nyla Stone, Larry Grissom, John Snyder, Candy Hacker, Lene Miller, Garrett and Angela Vierra, Michelle Luis, Joe Vierra, Christie Mayer, Tiffany Tarasoff, Jackie Silva and Tara Quinn.  He Also leaves behind 22 great grandchildren and nine great-great grand children. 
   Eugene worked as a ranch hand for Alfred Periere in Tracy before entering the Navy in 1944.  He served in World War II and is a member of the American Legion.  He married his wife Candida Vierra in 1940 and they started their family in Tracy. They moved to Manteca 1956  where he lived for 59 years.  After the Navy he worked as an earth mover with the Operating Engineer Local 3 Union from which he retired in 1984. He loved his tractors. After retirement he enjoyed wood working with his brother Pete, doing crossword puzzles, working in his big garden; growing flowers, fruits and vegtables.  Eugene enjoyed riding his scooter, and watching the SF Giants with his three dogs.  He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.
   P.L. Fry & Son is honored to be serving the Vierra family.  A viewing will be held Thursday, August 6th, 1-7pm with the rosary at 7pm at P.L. Fry & Son, 290 N. Union Rd., Manteca.  Mass will be Friday, August 7th, 11:00 am at St Anthony’s Catholic Church, 505 E.  North St., Manteca.  He will be laid to rest at Tracy Public Cemetery.  An online guest book is avaliable for condoelnces at www.plfryandson.com (search obituaries).
