Evelyn Margaret Sesser, 89, entered into rest on Dec. 31, in Manteca.

She was born on Oct. 22, 1919 to the late Mr. and Mrs. George and Myra Collins. She is preceded in death by her siblings Gwen Ernst, Ben Collins, and Betty Frantzich.

Evelyn is survived by her beloved husband of 69 years Ezra Sesser; children; Linda Duke and husband George of Suisun, Bryan Sesser and wife Pat of Santa Rosa, George Sesser and wife Cathy of Washington State, and Dorothy Silva and husband Carlos of Manteca; grandchildren; Kimberly Machado, Tiffany Adams, James Silva, Kristin Sesser, John Duke, Margaret Windes, Leslie Sesser, and Rob Sesser; and four great grandchildren; Jessica Machado, Owen Machado, Jude Machado, and Keara Windes. She was also blessed with one surviving sister Kathryn Darringer of Stockton.

Evelyn was a Manteca resident for over 58 years. She was an active wife of a local almond farmer and a very creative homemaker. While raising her family Evelyn worked part time in the cannery and at Jee’s Clothing Store in Manteca. She was a member of Northgate Community Brethren Church of Manteca for over 50 years. She was fully devoted to her Lord Jesus Christ and immersed herself with reading her Bible, teaching Sunday school, Ladies Ministries, deaconess duties, as well as camp counselor for youth. With the changing seasons Evelyn made beautiful flower arrangements for her church, which they still enjoy to this day. Some of her favorite past times were crafts, traveling and eating out. Evelyn truly loved people; she loved counseling and talking, she was always interested in your story and wanted to help out in any way she could. She was considered to many people  a “Surrogate Mother” if they needed advise, help, or a place of serenity. Above all Evelyn loved her family. She cherished every memory and moment with each and every one of them. She always had a positive out look on life with a gorgeous smile on her face. She will be remembered for being a sweet lady who was caring to everyone she meet throughout her lifetime.
