Filbert F. Furtado, 91, passed away January 12, 2012, in Manteca, CA. He was born in San Jose, CA August 28, 1920. Mr. Furtado was previously a resident of Milpitas and San Jose, CA. Filbert is preceded in death by his wife Edna Furtado of 54 years, as well as two sisters and one brother.

Survivors include two daughters, Karen Amore and her husband Randall, Sharie Romero & Darryl Bain both of Manteca, son Mike Mason & wife Sandra of Arizona. In addition to his children he is survived by his grandchildren, Nathan Amore & Linnea Wilkens, Randy Amore II, Edna Romero & James Striplian, Dave & Claudine Mason, Steve Mason, and many nieces and nephews.

Filbert served his country in the Army during World War II. He was involved in carpentry work for over 20 years. He retired after working over 18 year as a manufacturer for the Ford Motor Company in Milpitas. Filbert will be remembered for his soft gentle smile, his willingness to love everyone he met and help anyone in need. Filbert was a quiet man who loved loudly. He always had thumbs up atti tude. His family will never forget the loyalty and commitment to love his family and others. Filbert lived the example of Christ by serving others. He was a great father, wonderful grandfather, loving great grandfather and he will be truly missed.
