Flora Belle (Farrar) Simpson, 92, passed away on November 6, 2010 at her home in Manteca.

Flora Belle was born June 23, 1918 in Oakland, California, the only child of Milton and Alice Farrar.  Her father died when she was 6 years old, her mother remarried.  Flora Belle was the oldest of eight children.   

Flora Belle was raised in Oakland, California where she attended Oakland High School.  She was in many drama productions, choir and loved being in school.  She graduated in 1935.  She was a member of the Las Antiguedades Club in Fremont for many years.  She worked as a bookkeeper for Independent Iron Works and Bostrom-Bergan Metal Products until her retirement in 1985.  She lived in Castro Valley for almost 50 years.

 Flora Belle is survived by her daughters Ellen Law (and husband Steven) of Manteca, and Susan Simpson of San Leandro.  She is also survived by her grandsons Kevin Law of Oak Harbor, Washington, Ethan Law of Chico, and Dylan Law of Manteca.  She has one great grand-daughter, Kasidee Law of Santa Clara. She also leaves behind sisters Jayne Marshall of Olympia, Washington & Louise Bruno of Napa, along with one brother, Leo Casassa (and wife, Alyce) of McKinleyville.  Predeceased was her sister, Shirley Gaeden and brothers Bill, Ken, and Fred Casassa.  

 Flora Belle loved her family, friends and her books.  She will be remembered as a fun-loving, feisty, independent woman who will be missed deeply by all who knew and loved her.

 A memorial service will be held on Monday, Nov. 22, 2010 at Chapel of the Chimes, 4499 Piedmont Avenue, Oakland at 10 a.m. To sign her personal guest book please visit www.plfryanson.com
