   Frances E. Schmiedt, 91, entered into rest on December 6, 2014 in Manteca, CA.  She was born to the late Mr. and Mrs. Emery and Carrie Trahan on June 18, 1923 in Portland, Oregon.  In heaven Frances joins her parents; husband, Lester Schmiedt and brothers, Emery and Raymond Trahan.    Mrs. Schmiedt is survived by her loving family, children; Alan Schmiedt (Cheryl) and Ernest Schmiedt; grandchildren, Kimberly Martin (Ed) and Stephen Schmiedt (Clair).  Additionally, Frances is survived by her great-grandchildren, whom she adored,Emily, Andrew, Fletcher and Sophia.
   Frances was a resident of Manteca, where she and her husband led their family business “Schmiedt Soil Service” for over 30 years. She volunteered her time for many organizations as she was a member of Northgate Community Brethren Church, Manteca Historical Society, Friends of the Library and Soroptimists International. Frances and her husband were adventurous, traveling internationally and domestically. They used their RV to travel throughout the United States. She had a no-nonsense personality but had a kind and loving spirit. Frances will be remembered for her generous, giving heart, her humble character, and her loving nature. She will be deeply missed by all of those that she touched.
   P.L. Fry & Son is honored to be serving the Schmiedt family. A visitation will be held on Friday, December 12, 2014 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at P.L. Fry & Son, 290 N. Union Rd., Manteca. A celebration of life will be on Saturday, December 13, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. also held at P.L. Fry & Son. She will be laid to rest at Park View Cemetery.
