Frank Simmons Jr., 70, entered into rest on March 8, 2011 in Tracy, California. He was born on October 21, 1940 in Martinez, California to the late Mr. and Mrs. Frankie and Rachel Simmons Sr. He joins his parents in heaven as well as his former wife Mary (Sherer) Simmons.

 Mr. Simmons is survived by his two children Stacie June Simmons of Manteca and Frankie Simmons III of Tracy. He was blessed with five grandchildren Cheryl Lynn Collin, Sheila Marie Collin, Chevelle Linagh Collin, Tyler Mitchell Simmons, and Miranda Nichole Simmons. He has six siblings; Kat Clements of Brentwood, Fred Simmons of Antioch, Ruben Simons of Reno, Mert Simmons of Galt, Carolyn Ferreira of Galt and Eddie Simmons of Brentwood. In addition Frank is survived by his former wife of Mexico Mary (Gerhardt) Simmons.

Frank proudly served his country under the United States Navy where he was honorably discharged. He retired after 30 years of service from Owens Illinois as a glass molder. He enjoyed traveling; especially to Mexico. Frank’s favorite passtime was fishing. He loved driving up to Rio Vista with his sister Carolyn to enjoy the nature’s beauty as they both were always expecting to catch the perfect fish. Among all Frank enjoyed spending time with his family; they meant the world to him. Frank will be remembered for his sweet nature and his loving spirit. He will be missed.

 Mr. Simmons’ arrangements are being handled by P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home of Manteca. A visitation in Frank’s honor will be held on Friday March 11, 2011 from 1 to 5 p.m. at P.L.
