Gaines L. Newton was born on October 29, 1926 to Gabe and Mamie Newton of Oklahoma. He passed away peacefully on June 2, 2010 after a long illness. He is survived by his wife of 62 years Geneva L. Newton; son, John L. Newton; daughters, Gloria Diane Bartels and grandchildren, Dawn M.

Halloway, Jennifer Ann Hack, Mary D. Newton; great-grandchildren, Summer L. Miller, Samuel Buddy Brown and one yet to be born soon.

He was loved much and will be remembered by all who knew him for his great sense of humor and his willingness to help any one who was in need.

He was blessed with many friends and he will be missed dearly by his family but he will live in our hearts until we see him again in heaven.
