Born on January 15, 1948 in Modesto, CA, Gary George Hiatt, 72, entered into rest on August 21, 2020 in Manteca, CA.       
   Gary is survived by his loving family, sons, Scott Hiatt and Brock (Andrea) Hiatt and grandchildren, Kyle, Jorie, and Bode, brother Richard (Carla) Hiatt, and Natalie (Jeff) Rosas.
   A lifetime resident of Manteca, Gary attended Manteca High School, graduating in 1966. He proudly served his country through the United States Navy during the Vietnam War on the Aircraft Carrier USS Hancock. Using the GI Bill, he graduated from San Joaquin Delta College earning an AA Degree.  Gary went on to work at Valley Electric in Stockton and soon started his own business, Independent Motor Works. He moved onto Valley Rubber and Gasket in Stockton where he retired after 20 plus years of work. Gary was a simple man who loved the great outdoors, Hunting and fishing were some of his favorite ways to relax and unwind.  He was a member of the VFW and enjoyed hot rods and watching old westerns on television. Gary will be remembered as a loving man who was always kind to others. He will be deeply missed.
