Genevieve V. Smith, 88, entered into rest on April 9, 2010 in Modesto, California. She was born on March 30, 1922 in New Bedford, Mass. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Raymond Smith and her two sons Donald Smith and Edward Smith as well as one brother Bill Brown and one grandchild Sissy Smith.

Mrs. Smith is survived by her children Genifer Washburn, and Roland Smith and his wife Jan. She has two Daughters-in-Law whom she thought of as daughters Carol Aksland and Sharon Smith. She was blessed by 9 grandchildren; Jerry, Shawn, Jeff, Cathy, Randy, Shelly, Stephanie, Stacy, and Eddie as well as numerous great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sibling Ewilda Foundation.

Genevieve was an extremely talented seamstress. She loved birds and raised cockatiels for many years. She was loved by her family and will be missed by all who knew her.

 Mrs. Smith’s services are being handled by P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home of Manteca. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 15, 2010 from 1 to 5 p.m. at P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home 290 N. Union Road, Manteca. A celebration of life will be held on Friday April 16, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. also at P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest with her beloved husband at East Union Cemetery. An on-line guest book is available for condolences at www.plfryandson.com.
