George A. Schingler, 69, of Manteca passed away Tuesday, August 11, 2009, at his second home in Yuma, AZ.  He died peacefully in his sleep.  His death was from natural causes.

George was born in Stockton June 3, 1940 to George and Sylvia Schingler.  The family moved to Manteca in the early 50’s.  George was active in the Boy Scouts as a youth and achieved the rank of Eagle Scout.  George graduated from Manteca High in 1957.

George was a very avid Antique Bottle Collector.  He was a member of the Modesto Antique Bottle Club, Stockton Antique Bottle Club and the Sacramento Antique Bottle Club. He had a great love for antiques and California history.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, BarbaraJo Birchler Schingler;  daughter and son-in-law Cherryl Schingler Pardoel and Rene Pardoel;  grandchildren; Brian Keith Kimble, Justin Kimble, JoLee Kimble, John R. Kulbeth, Rene Pardoel II, Sean Pardoel and Joshua Pardoel; great- grandchildren; Katelynn Pardoel, Nathan Pardoel and Brooklynn Pardoel.  Brother Steve Schingler; sisters, Myrna Peterson and Barbara Carol Schingler; step-brothers, Richard Shimek and Steve Shimek; brothers-in-law, R. Lee Birchler and Roy Birchler; and multiple nieces and nephews.

George was preceded in death by his son Kevin George Schingler, father George A. Schingler, mother Sylvia Van Schoick-Schingler-Shimek and step-father Jack Shimek.
