George Duffy Jr., 80, entered into rest on January 29, 2011 in Manteca, California. He was born on March 23, 1930 in St. Louis, Missouri, to the late Mr. and Mrs. George Duffy Sr. and Estherlena Duffy. He joins his parents in heaven as well as his beloved wife Susan Duffy and his siblings Lionel Duffy, Leorna Duffy and Donald Duffy.
Mr. Duffy is survived by his children George Duffy III and his wife Izabela of Manteca, Brian Duffy of San Diego, Darryl Duffy of Arkansas, and Lenora Duffy of Modesto. He was blessed by three grandchildren: Deadre Mitchell, Joshua Duffy, Davondra Duffy and Mickey Walker. He has one surviving sister Exenia Duffy of St. Louis. In addition, George is survived by a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members who loved him dearly.
Before moving to Manteca 11 years ago George was a resident of Milpitas since 1993. He was a business owner both in the Bay Area and Manteca owning Pacifica Capitol Group in Manteca since 1998. Ultimately, George was in real-estate business for over 50 years. Before getting into real estate George proudly served his country in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. While in the military George had a talent for playing the trumpet and was accepted into the Army band as their trumpet player. George was a great businessman who was extremely wise in all that he did. He was the pillar of his family passing on incredible morals and values to each and every one of his family members. He was very kind-hearted always taking care of his loved ones with no reservation. He enjoyed playing the piano, watching boxing, western movies, riding horses and listening to Jazz music. George will be remembered as a devoted husband, a wonderful father and an amazing grandfather. He will be missed.
In Mr. Duffy’s honor a celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, Feb.12, 2011 at 1 p.m. held at P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home 290 N. Union Road, Manteca, CA. He will be laid to rest at a later date at the National Cemetery in Los Angeles, CA. In lieu of flowers donations can be sent to The March of Dimes, 1275 Mamaroneck Avenue White Plains, NY 10605.
