Gilbert Norm Handley, 86,
entered into heaven on September 18, 2012 in Modesto, California. He was born May 18, 1926 in Topeka, Kansas.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Vera May Handley and his son Dennis Norman Handley. He is survived by his daughters Diane Young (Jay), Marlene Colby (Gary), and son Thomas Handley (Anita). Norm was blessed with nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Norm served in the Navy during World War II and the Korean War.
He retired as an engineer from Westinghouse in 1988. Norm enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and anywhere a ship could go. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be truly missed.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, September 23, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Manteca, California. A private interment will be held at a later date in Los Gatos, California. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salvation Army or the St. Paul’s Food Pantry.
