Gilbert “Victor” Franco, Jr., 45, entered into rest on March 21, 2009 in Manteca, California. He was born on September 12, 1963 in Turlock to Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert and Isabel Franco. He joins his father in heaven, Gilbert S. Franco.

Victor is survived by his loving mother Isabel Franco of Manteca. His children are Ashley Sanchez Meza and husband Francisco, and Michael S. Franco. Siblings are Debbie Miner and husband Terry of Manteca, Linda Victorino of Manteca, Maria Franco of Manteca, Mario Franco and wife Sherry of Ripon, and Jessie Franco and wife Yanet of Manteca. He was blessed by one grandchild, Christian Isaiah Sanchez, and many nieces and nephews.

Victor was a resident of Manteca his entire life. He was a member and regular attendee of Lathrop Christian Center. He was an avid Angels and Cowboys fan and loved NASCAR especially Dale Earnhardt, Jr. in car #88. Umpiring was one of Victor’s hobbies; he never missed a game. He found peace traveling along the coast. He enjoyed a great game of golf and loved to compete at just about anything he was challenged to.

Victor had an amazing personality. Every year he looked forward to the holiday and birthday celebrations. Victor was always very supportive to his family and friends. He was a man of integrity that always put family first. Family gatherings were always his favorite place to be. Victor will be remembered for his outgoing personality and his happiness that shone through inside and out. He will be greatly missed by all. 

 Mr. Franco’s services are being held under the direction of P.L. Fry & Son Funeral Home of Manteca. Visitation will be Friday, March 27, at P.L .Fry & Son Funeral Home from 2 to 7 p.m., with a special memorial tribute taking place at 5 p.m.. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, March 28 at 1 p.m. at Calvary Community Church 815 W. Lathrop Road, Manteca. Final resting place will be at East Union Cemetery, 1035 N. Union Road, Manteca.
