Gloria Stowell, 88, entered into rest Saturday, September 21, 2013 in Modesto, at the Gallo Center for the Arts. She was born on August 16, 1925 in San Francisco. Gloria leaves behind her children, Neal Nelson and wife Tatiana of Manteca and Janet Jones and husband Ron of Hayward. She was blessed with three grandchildren, Eric Nelson, Jason Nelson and Gina Ungaretti and two great grandchildren Bailey and Leo. In addition, Gloria leaves her boyfriend Bob Spurling.
Gloria lived in Manteca for 6 years and prior to that time, she was a resident of Oakdale. She was a bookkeeper for many years before she retired. In retirement she traveled the world for 12 years, going on at least 10 major trips per year. Gloria was fortunate to be able to enjoy the many pleasures in life, both large and small, but remained well grounded. She was always there for anyone in need. She was a builder and able to put a positive spin on any situation. She would make chicken salad out of the worst situations. Her positive and upbeat energy was felt by everyone who knew her. Gloria was passionate about anything that she did. She was always willing to learn. Who says you can’t teach an old dog new tricks! She loved her family and friends dearly and let them know in every way. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and friend.
P.L. Fry and Son Funeral Home is honored to serve Gloria’s family. All arrangements have been kept private. For condolences to the family please visit our website at www.plfryandson.com Search obituaries.
