"Gwen / Gwennie" Gallagher, age 91, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 24, 2020 on the Eve of Christmas with her loving family by her side.
Survived by her loving husband of 66 years, David, five children, several nieces and nephews, six grand- children, three great- grandchildren, a beloved sister and many beloved friends, Gwen went on to live a fulfilled life leaving a lasting impact on all she knew. A truly incomparable life in so many purposeful ways.
After graduating from high school in St. Joseph Missouri, 1947, Gwen began her nursing career as a student at St. Joseph's hospital and then as an RN at the Sister's Hospital in St. Joseph, Missouri. In 1977 she began a long career as a dermatology nurse. Gwen and Dave would go on to travel to places such as, Australia, England, Canada, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, New Zealand. Gwen even had a sailboat named after her, Gwen II and a Winnebago RV in which she would continue to explore many miles in with called the “Gwennie Winnie.” She loved gardening and was a passionate bird watcher. She spent her last days happy and watching her legacy of children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
